Arlene J. Bird, Pastor

Bird has served as pastor of First Baptist Church of Beverly since November, 2005.  She is a  former staff member of American Baptist Churches of New Jersey.  She has also served as a local church outreach consultant.   She has worked for Outreach, Inc., a non-denominational organization that provides outreach ideas and tools to churches.  A second-career pastor, Pastor Bird spent 25 years in the marketing communications field as an executive working with corporations, advertising agencies and the media.  She and her husband have two daughters and three grandchildren.  Pastor Bird will retire September, 2011.

Ami Vielehr,  NEW Pastor

Vielehr was called by the congregation on Sunday, June 12, to be the new Pastor of First Baptist Church of Beverly.  She will assume full responsibility as Pastor in September.  During the interim period, both pastors will preach and serve the church to ensure a smooth transition.  Pastor Vielehr received her MDiv from Palmer Seminary in Wynnewood, PA in 2010.  She comes with an ecumenical background and experience in serving in a variety of roles in the church.  She and her husband have three children, two boys and a girl.  She is also currently serving as a hospice chaplain.

 Durant Charleroy, Minister of Music

Charleroy has been the church musician at First Baptist Church  for nearly 30 years.  Previously Church Organist, Durant became First Baptist's Keyboardist in 2006 to provide accompaniment for blended worship that includes traditional hymns, as well as contemporary praise music.
